I am a bleeding-heart liberal and a bleeding-toe dancer. Marha Graham is a goddess and Jon Stewart, a god.

Don't mind originalname533 , he's my boyfriend and he's still very cool, even though he doesn't dance. :)

So I'm new, but I'm a rabid democrat, with large aspirations (either winning a seat in congress, or killing George Bush, whichever is best for the country). So welcome me in style by sending hundreds of comment my way and everyone inviting me to be their friend!

I can't dance by the way (sorry)

I can't believe they can do this. I hate it when people corrupt good things such as livejournal.

From the book Homegrown Democrat by Garrison Keillor:

Dancers subsisting on ramen noodles, actors who walked ten miles to save bus fare, violinists scarfing up leftovers...There's a reason why 95% of people in the arts are Democrats. An artisitic gift is dropped on you by God and if you attend to the gift and are true to it, you will sometimes be in serious need of a helping hand. Art is an imperitive stronger than commerce. Republicans don't understand this. They cherish you if you're rich and famous, they can't do enough for you if there's nothing you need, but when you're hard up, don't go to the front door of the Manor, go around to the back and the hired help will take you in.

Well we can't have the conservatives out-numbering us (especially when they aren't creative enough to come up with dancing_elephants). I will try to keep my nasty comments to myself, or at least my own journal. In fact I might just work up a good rant in my own journal about the inherent conflicts in being both a conservative and any kind of artist.

But hey, right now I'm particularly prickly. Someone stole the Kerry signs from my yard last night. However, the anger was redirected into the procuring and hanging of an 8 Foot Kerry Edwards sign. So there, so there. That reminds me; could we add Kerry to the interest list? Believe me, I won't usually be so demanding!

Anyway, hello lefties. And radicals. :)

Hi my name is Kelly and I am a radical ballet dancer. Next Tuesday the VP debates will be at my school, CWRU, and I plan on demonstrating. I shake my tailfeathers for choice, too.
